Harassment within the workplace remains a hot topic for employers.  Whilst most of the focus has been on allegations of sexual harassment, harassment can cover a far wider list of unacceptable behaviours.

This workshop will look at harassment and the practical steps employers and their managers can take towards preventing unacceptable behaviour, minimising the risk of any claims and avoiding reputational damage.

It is a must for managers who are new to tackling this controversial area and a timely reminder for experienced managers too.

Employers need to be robust and have clearly understood standards of conduct as well as creating a culture that gives staff confidence to raise concerns when they need to, and management the ability to take decisive action when required.  Having a written policy is not enough and won’t drive behavioural change.

This interactive session will look at issues including:

  • The legal framework and different claims that can arise
  • Preventative measures – induction, policy and training
  • Getting the culture right
  • Where the workplace begins and ends
  • Use and abuse of social media
  • Resolving disputes and dealing with claims
